Kodak Alaris Builds Smart TV Box

Kodak Smart TV box interfaceAdd Kodak Alaris to the list of tech companies building Android set-tops capable of streaming YouTube and other online video content.

Kodak Alaris contracted Guandong, China-based original equipment manufacturer Shenzhen SDMC Technology Co. to build the box, according to an FCC test report dated Oct. 10.

Kodak Alaris 3While the test report refers to the device as Print Hub II, a user manual attached to the report refers to the device Smart TV Box. It runs the Android 4.2 operating system and contains an ARM dual-core Cortex CPU. It features both HDMI and composite video outputs, optical audio output, and can play videos in several formats, including MPEG-4, MP4 and MKV files.
