Dish Launches 16-Tuner Hopper 3

Tripling the number of programs that subscribers of rival DirecTV can record simultaneously, Dish Network began distributing its 16-tuner Hopper 3 DVR on Monday.

The super DVR, which Dish unveiled last month at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, also supports 4K Ultra HD content.

And Dish said Monday that it will soon add  Netflix application to Hopper 3 which will allow it to deliver a program guide that displays listings from both linear TV networks and Netflix titles.

Dish is charging subscribers that take a Hopper 3 monthly whole-home DVR fees of $15, plus $7 monthly for its Joey thin-client set-tops that can access content from the Hopper.
