Comcast Enlists Minions to Sell Xfinity Voice Remote

Comcast is using the buzz surrounding the July 10 release of NBC Universal movie “Minions” to pitch subscribers its new Xfinity voice-activity remote control.

A 30-second promo posted on Comcast’s YouTube site on Wednesday features Minions characters fighting over whether to watch a soccer match or “Top Chef,” a series carried on NBCU’s Bravo network.

Comcast also unveiled a Minions virtual reality display in May at the opening of its Studio Xfinity retail store in Chicago.
